Reflecting Projections

Sex Workers’ Voices Heard

This installation immerses us in the realities of the lives of sex workers. They often become a projection screen for patriarchal attitudes, are morally condemned or portrayed as helpless victims – dichotomous attributions that don’t so much reflect their own reality, but rather society’s ideas of sexuality and gender. Ceramic exhibits and sound landscapes provide an insight into the experiences, goals, desires and stories of eight sex workers. Thus, the installation creates a space to rethink society’s projections.
