Animal testing is controversial but so far vital for the development of drugs. New technologies are now making it possible to test drugs on engineered tissue samples. The bioprinter «Lumios FL-1» prints growth structures. It has a carefully conceived layout, so researchers can easily apply the printing procedures which were developed at ETH Zurich.
