About
Teaching in the Department of Design is offered at Bachelor's and Master's degree level.
In six semesters, the Bachelor of Arts in Design teaches subject-specific fundamentals and the necessary skills for entering design-oriented professional practice. Students choose one of seven Majors for their creative and theoretical training: Game Design, Cast/Audiovisual Media, Knowledge Visualization, Visual Communication, Interaction Design, Industrial Design, Trends & Identity. After successful degree completion, graduates work for design, communication and innovation agencies, are employed in the design, development, marketing or media departments of large and small companies, venture into self-employment alone or together with fellow graduates or expand their design expertise with a Master's degree.
In the Master of Arts in Design, designers and design-affiliated professionals deepen their skills in one of the Department of Design's six Majors and achieve professional excellence. The focus is on acquiring a research-oriented working and thinking practice. Personal responsibility, the ability to develop a responsible, interdisciplinary approach to design and the foundations for entrepreneurial action prepare students for subsequent career steps and also guarantee their ability to continue on to higher education.
