Where can you be found at ZHdK?
If I'm not on my way to Toni campus or get lost in there, then I'm in office 4.E07. Unfortunately, my sense of direction is miserable. If someone would show me the way to the shower, I might be found in the ASVZ from time to time.
What drives you?
Disorientation and determination are not mutually exclusive. My CV is characterized by detours: curative kindergarten, tutoring, special class, and boarding school. What drives me are the negative voices of the past, the positive ones of today, bad music (quote from friends) and good coffee.
Who would you like to work with?
With Dunne & Raby, Superflux, Wang & Söderström, Modem Works... or with other speculative thinkers and designers who make abstract futures tangible with their designs and put them up for debate.
Where do you see the Department of Design in 2050?
Nothing against design thinking and future thinking - thinking like designers or trend/future researchers may be justified in certain contexts and for certain tasks. They can act as a door opener to design and research practice, but they cannot replace it. In the future, I see it as a key responsibility of the Department of Design to communicate methods and theories in a differentiated way and to establish references between continuing education, teaching and research.
