Patrik Ferrarelli

What do you find special about the ZHdK?
The creative ideas, the off-the-wall trends, the distinctive personalities, the creative process, the design and the stories.

What could you not live without at the Toni?
The interesting encounters and conversations in the long corridors and the bistro Chez Toni.

Which topics are you focussing on at the moment?
Visual identities, the sociology of branding, poster design, the services provided by art universities (with the emphasis on design), and teaching the basics of visual communication in design classes.

What motivates you?
For me, the greatest thing is to share and reflect on my own experience in visual communication with young students. The interplay between artistic freedom and design as a service is also an important driver.

Where do you find your inspiration?
Everywhere! In books, on the internet, in conversations, films, music, in my daughter’s room … inspiration can be found everywhere!
