What is your day-to-day work like?
My day-to-day work mainly consists of answering e-mails, filling out forms, storing data and keeping lists of project entries. I really like organizing and structuring things. My work at the ZHdK offers me a nice counterbalance to my freelance work as an illustrator, where I creatively develop themes and create images.

Where can you be found at the ZHdK?
I can be found at my desk in the office. Or in the corridor on the way to get coffee and sometimes on the roof terrace when the sun is shining.

What topics are you dealing with personally at the moment?
I'm currently working personally on redesigning our garden. I want to transform our lawn garden into a flower garden bit by bit. I'm thinking about different areas planted with native wild perennials. Hopefully there will be something blooming in the garden all year round.

What drives you?
My curiosity and love of detail drive me. I love immersing myself in topics and looking at things very closely. It's not for no reason that I studied Knowledge Visualization.

Who would you like to swap roles with for six months?
With my 1.5-year-old son, who is discovering the world without any insecurities or fear of touching it. He sees every day as an adventure and feels totally cared for and protected.

What is your personal definition of design?
For me, design is consciously created functionality with precision craftsmanship.
