Cast Students Create Educational Videos on Climate Zones for SRF school
«What is a Climate Zone?» – Cast / Audiovisual Media students have produced a series of animated films in collaboration with SRF school. The films convey the earth's climate zones in an illustrative way.
The videos, each around two minutes long, cater to children in primary school (Cycle II) and give an overview of the polar zone, the subpolar zone, the temperate zone, the subtropics and the tropics. They have been published on 9 December 2025 on SRF school.
The students received the commission from SRF school. On the basis of content synopses, they developed explanatory videos that they implemented and designed independently. The six resulting videos deal with the following questions, among others: How does the angle of sun rays influence the climate? Which plants and animals live in the respective zones and how do they adapt to extreme conditions?
Stefanie Theil, Head of SRF school: «With these videos, we want to illustrate complex correlations in an understandable way and raise children's awareness for the versatility and vulnerability of the earth. The humorous and informative films encourage to learn more about the conditions on our planet.»
