ZHdK design projects nominated for the “Design Preis Schweiz”

Nomination

Several works by employees and graduates of the Department of Design have been nominated for the prestigious “Design Preis Schweiz”. The nominations cover a broad spectrum of design fields and present both innovative design research and works that were created in studios and design collectives by graduates.

The research projects “3Fold” and “finally.” stem from the subject areas Industrial Design and Trends & Identity. “3Fold” presents a foldable surgical application instrument that is used in the operating room for the insertion of pacemakers. The innovative work was nominated in the category “Product Design”. Likewise, Prof. Bitten Stetter's work entitled “finally.” has been nominated for the award. “finally.” focuses on improving the quality of life in the last stages of life and was nominated in the category “Inclusive Design”. The products serve to facilitate the everyday lives of fragile people and preserve their dignity.

In addition to the above-mentioned design research projects, the ZHdK Design Department is very pleased that a number of employees and former students have found themselves in the selection with their studio projects. We congratulate the teams and individuals for the nomination of their design projects: “First State of Matter” by René Odermatt in the category «Product Design» as well as “Urban Lemonade” by Jalscha Römer and “Vermicelleria” by Nicole Heim and David Jäggiin the category “Food Design”.
