Margins of Infiltration
Gliomas are among the most common primary brain tumours. Their infiltrative growth leaves no clear boundaries with healthy tissue, making them particularly challenging to operate on. How can this surgical reality be accurately presented in 3D visualisations? A series of 3D visualisations, developed in collaboration with Dr. Lucius Fekonja (Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin), uses material experiments to explore which design most aptly reflects the materiality of a brain tumour.
